What was the worst performance of the weekend? Liam Gallagher's off-key singing before the big fight at Wembley? Possibly. Anthony Joshua's no-show against Daniel Dubois? That's got to be at the forefront of any conversation.

Oh, wait a minute. How about West Ham's woeful effort against Chelsea in the 3-0 loss at the London Stadium?

The Hammers were so shocking their fans were flocking out of the ground well before the final whistle as their team slumped to a third straight home defeat.

Pity them if they were heading across the capital hoping the day would be saved by LG and AJ.

Usually, after dismal efforts like West Ham’s, the next game can't come quick enough as players and manager desire the chance to rectify shortcomings by putting the opposition to the sword.

But when it's a trip to Anfield to face a Liverpool team enjoying a flying start to the season – well, that's a different matter.

There's always the chance of catching the Reds cold but they are still chastened by the angst of manager Arne Slot following the defeat against Nottingham Forest in front of the Kop after the international break.

Since then, they have licked their wounds and beaten AC Milan in their Champions League opener, plus Bournemouth in the Premier League, and they will be eager to keep the momentum going at full speed.

Liverpool scored three times in both those victories as well as in the thumping success at Manchester United and have the strength in depth to make multiple changes without skipping much of a beat.

They have won the last eight meetings with the Hammers at Anfield, including twice last season when they won 3-1 in the Premier League and 5-1 in the Carabao Cup, and have scored three or more goals in five of those matches. It looks like another pummelling is on the cards.

Liverpool are no better than 2/5 ON with SpreadEx to win so back them at 21/20 with the same firm for the home side to lead HT/FT.

West Ham will already have an eye on their league status and won't want to be on the wrong side of another lopsided scoreline with a trip to Brentford on Saturday followed by a home game against Ipswich before the annual jolly to Tottenham.

A 3-0 Liverpool win is 9/1 with bet365, Paddy Power, BoyleSports and Betfair, while Cody Gakpo is 13/2 to open the scoring with Unibet and 41/20 with the same firm to hit the net at any time.

• Arsenal can keep a clean sheet for the fifth time in seven matches this season when they entertain Bolton in the Carabao Cup. The Gunners, who are just 1/8 to win, are 4/5 with bet365 to prevail without the Trotters scoring and a 2-0 victory is 6/1 with the same betting outlet as well as Betfred and Sky Bet. Raheem Sterling is 5/1 with Sky Bet to break the deadlock and 6/5 to score his first goal for the Gunners at any stage of the proceedings.

• Aaron Rai continues to impress with his tied fourth at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth following victory at the Wyndham, a T2 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, a T7 at the John Deere Classic and a T7 at the Scottish Open. The Wolverhampton golfer is well worth an each-way bet at 12/1 with William Hill to win this week's Open de Espana, while 4/6 with Betfred and Bet Victor to finish in the top 20 looks as safe as houses.
