Leicester believe they are closing in on a deal to make Graham Potter their new manager, talkSPORT understands.

Potter has been in advanced talks with the Foxes for the past week as they look to appoint a new boss.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has also been under consideration but director of football Jon Rudkin has led the push for Potter.

The feeling now at the King Power Stadium is that Leicester may be closing in on their man.

Leicester have been searching for a new boss since Chelsea‘s decision to appoint Enzo Maresca as their new head coach.

Potter has been out of work since April 2023 when he was sacked from his position at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea sitting 11th in the table at the time.

Since then the Englishman has had interest from other clubs, including Ajax, Manchester United and Leicester, who made an approach for him last summer before Maresca’s appointment.

However talkSPORT reported at the time that Potter turned down that approach from the Foxes due to his desire to take a break from the game.

Leicester will be facing a big challenge in the upcoming season as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

After suffering the drop last summer, the Foxes earned automatic promotion under Maresca last term and will now be praying to avoid an immediate return back to the EFL.

Should Potter be appointed, his first match in charge will be a home clash with Tottenham.
