Max Aarons mentions Norwich City repeatedly in Valencia presser – Asked about longer Bournemouth exit
Today at 09:16 AM
Max Aarons was keen to remind people of his time at Norwich City when discussing his move to Valencia from Bournemouth today.
That's at least if Super Deporte's coverage is anything to go by, as they cite the defender continually referencing Norwich City in his press conference today.
Aarons was announced as a new Valencia player today, joining the Spanish side on loan until the end of the season.
They've moved to add him to their squad as they look to bolster Carlos Corberan's squad amid a relegation battle in La Liga.
Aarons has jumped at the opportunity, presented with the chance to get regular playing time that hasn't been on offer at Bournemouth this season.
The 25-year-old has found himself out of the picture under Andoni Iraola after joining Bournemouth from Norwich City in August 2023.
He'll be hoping to get back on track in Spain in his first move outside of England so far after coming up through Norwich's youth ranks and then playing for Bournemouth.
Aarons is certainly optimistic about his chances and believes the relegation battle experience he had with Norwich will come in handy.
“I knew the team’s situation before I came, it is a great opportunity to have a great impact for me. And I have spoken with Corberan, now in January and I like this coach and the project he has," he said.
“I am prepared for this situation; it is a very important challenge for me. It is a situation that I already know, at Norwich I have already faced a similar situation.
“I come from the Premier League, and I know how hard it is to play there and also here in La Liga. It will be a great effort, there are great teams, but I think I will adapt quickly.”
Asked if Valencia will see his best version, Aarons said: “Sure, I think I definitely had a good time at Norwich, at Bournemouth I played well at the beginning then unfortunately I had an injury, but I don’t have any doubts about myself.”
After being asked if he plans to stay longer than his loan from Bournemouth, AS quote the player as saying: “The most important thing is to be able to play well during the months that I’m going to be here.”
