Young Ghanaian forward Amoako Minta was on target for Sassuolo in their 3-1 defeat to Roma in the Italian U-20 Primavera 1 league on Monday.
Minta, who has been one of the standout performers for Sassuolo this season, pulled his side level in the 10th minute after Roma had taken the lead in the opening minute of the game. The winger pressed high to dispossess a Roma defender before embarking on a solo run, calmly rounding the goalkeeper to finish with his weaker foot.
It was a composed effort that marked his fifth goal of the campaign, in addition to six assists, underlining his growing influence under coach Emiliano Bigica.
Sassuolo managed to stay compact for much of the game, but two quick goals from Roma in the 83rd and 84th minutes sealed the win for the visitors at the Enzo Ricci Park.
Despite the defeat, Mintas consistent form has been key to Sassuolos push this season, with the team currently sitting third on the Primavera 1 league table as the season nears its final stretch.
