Nice head coach Franck Haise has confirmed that Terem Moffi is in the frame to make his long-awaited comeback against Monaco on Saturday night.
The Nigeria international has yet to feature for the Eaglets this term due to a hamstring injury he sustained during pre-season, with Haise opting to ease him back into the fold.
Moffi returned to light training in February and finally joined the first team this month, although Haise decided against playing him in the friendly with Premier League side Brighton on Wednesday.
However, the French tactician revealed that the 25-year-old striker has made real progress since last week and could be named in the matchday squad for the trip to the Principality.
“Terem and Morgan [Sanson] are in the run-in, yes. They were supposed to play on Wednesday, but the team was very young and it was our big session of the week, so we thought it was better to do a big 1.5-hour session,” Haise was quoted as saying by Francbleu.
“Terem has improved over the last 10 days. In terms of sequences and dynamism. We can start different players depending on the matches. You’ll see tomorrow!”
