Zimbabwe eyeing AFCON qualification in Harambee Stars clash

Zimbabwe will try their best to book their spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) when they face Kenya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday evening in their qualifying campaign for the tournament.
Kick-off is at 18:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)
Zimbabwe did not make it to the last continental competition hosted in Ivory Coast earlier this year but they will now have hope as they can secure qualification should they grab at least a point in this encounter.
The Warriors have improved significantly since being under the guidance of Michael Ness who took over as the head coach at the end of July.
Since Ness has been in charge, his tactics have led to the nation being more solid defensively, having conceded only a single goal in the qualifiers.
Kenya, like Zimbabwe were disqualified from the AFCON for the previous edition, but have made a promising start to their campaign by earning three points from their first two matches in September.
The Harambee Stars will reach the end of their qualification hopes if they face defeat against Zimbabwe, while a draw or a win will see the battle for second-place go down to the final match of the group.
Engin Firat's charges have lost their last two away games, ergo, the coach will be expecting for the team to pick up form in this clash.
