Arsenal can 'breathe a sigh of relief' as Riccardo Calafiori's injury is not as bad as first feared and he will return in a couple of weeks.

That's according to Il Messaggero, who report that the defender will not be in Sunday's clash against Germany after picking up a knee injury this week.

The newspaper explains that Calafiori was pulled from the defeat to Germany on Thursday after twisting his left knee. The injury 'scared everyone a bit', including the Arsenal defender, who appeared visibly concerned in the mixed zone afterwards.

Instead, the injury seem less serious than first thought and the fear of a long absence has now passed. The current talk is of a lesion to the collateral ligament in his knee, between a first and second degree.

If that is confirmed, Calafiori would be out for between two and three weeks. That would leave him out of the clash with Germany and Arsenal's games against Fulham and Everton.

However, he would be available for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid scheduled for April 8th. That means Arsenal can breathe a sigh of relief, even if the problem is not a small one by any means.
