Arsenal have Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha in their transfer target list for the winter market.

Earlier this month, Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious knee injury in their FA Cup loss to Manchester United and will be out of action for a long spell.

Arsenal have been looking for a new attacker and seem determined to strengthen that position in January after Jesus’ setback.

That’s according to UOL, who state the north London club have identified the Wolves star as a target.

Recent claims in the English press have stated Nottingham Forest and a few other clubs have their eyes set on the 25-year-old. UOL state these clubs have carried out surveys, without specifying whether they contacted Wolves, Cunha’s representatives or both.

The Brazilian outlet then adds that at the moment, Arsenal are the ‘most interested’ team, due to Jesus’ injury.

Cunha has impressed for Wolves this season, managing 10 goals and four assists from 21 Premier League games.

UOL state Vítor Pereira’s side value him at around €80m and the price could be lowered if the Brazil international were to leave after this season.

Arsenal seem determined and have to spend big if they want to sign the Wolves player in January.
