Palmeiras have been presented an opportunity to sign Arsenal’s Jorginho in the winter market.

That’s according to ESPN in Brazil, and they state the 33-year-old has been offered to the Brazilian club.

The midfielder has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season and it includes six starts.

Jorginho has less than six months left on his contract, and the report states he’s tempted by leaving the Emirates in the ongoing window.

Palmeiras have started negotiations with the Brazil-born Italy international’s agent, but they haven’t yet tabled an offer for this surprise transfer.

Jorginho, for his part, would only be willing to move to Brazil for Palmeiras or Flamengo as the they have better finances than others and have qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup.

It’s claimed the success of the operation will depend on how the negotiations will proceed between the parties. Although the former Chelsea man is tempted to leave the Gunners in January, ESPN make no mention of Arsenal’s stance on this.

If Mikel Arteta’s side were to refuse to sanction the midfielder’s exit in January, he can leave them as a free agent in the summer.

There will undoubtedly be tempting opportunities for Jorginho in Europe if he leaves Arsenal, so a move to Brazil may be a little premature.
