Flamengo want to sign Arsenal’s Jorginho on a free transfer in the summer window.
The Brazilian club’s sporting director, José Boto, has stated the midfielder has to make a decision on joining them.
Last week, the Arsenal player and his fiancé, Catherine Harding, travelled to Rio de Janeiro. Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista requested the club’s supporters pray that Harding liked the Brazilian city.
The 33-year-old has already returned to London and his agent, João Santos, said he will start talks with Arsenal and other interested parties after April 15th. The Brazil-born Italy international’s sister, Fernanda Frello, is helping him with the transfer process.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Lemos, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest.
Lemos explains Frello manages her brother’s socials, and helps generally, and plans to return to Rio de Janeiro ‘soon’. He adds she intends to stay in the city for long, to help Harding settle into life there.
Frello visited some properties with Harding, who later evaluated it with Jorginho.
His sibling’s intention is to help Harding adapt and settle in quickly in Brazil in the event the Arsenal midfielder closes the agreement with Flamengo.
