If Martin Zubimendi thought he’d have some calm for the rest of the transfer window after claims of a move to the Premier League died down again then he was mistaken.

Tuesday saw claims that the Real Sociedad midfielder is set to join Arsenal in the summer. The move was said to be pretty much agreed and presented as a sure thing.

Those claims of a move to Arsenal quickly made their way to Spain and specifically Real Sociedad’s Basque region.

San Sebastián journalist Roberto Ramajo has now written an article for AS and it sounds like he’s been in touch with the player’s camp.

Zubimedi is said to be ‘tired of the constant English rumours’ and is completely focusing on Real Sociedad right now. AS state the claims from England have escalated ‘to the point that the San Sebastian player is tired of so many rumours and gossip, because at the moment there is nothing’.

As far as the Spanish newspaper is concerned, Zubimedi isn’t ruling out a move to Arsenal or anywhere else in the summer but doesn’t want to think about it right now.

The latest claims from England are addressed directly with AS saying: ‘Zubimendi has not committed to anyone.’

Only when the season ends will the Spain international make a decision, and the possible destinations – at this stage – are listed as Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
