"I certainly believe" – Arsenal star waxes lyrical about Arteta, convinced trophies on the way

Arsenal star Jurrien Timber in convinced trophies will be on the way for Mikel Arteta at the club before too long, insisting he believes the Spaniard is the right man for the job.
Timber has been speaking to Viaplay, relayed by Soccer News, about Arteta and the job he's been doing at Arsenal so far.
The Spanish coach has been the key part of Arsenal's transition back into title contenders in recent years, helping to transform the club and the squad alongside former director of football Edu Gaspar.
They're now very much in the title hunt each year, with Arsenal improving year on year to finish eighth, eighth, fifth, second, second and currently sit second in the table this season as well in the Premier League.
There's been plenty to be positive about as Arteta has reshaped the squad, developed a growing list of homegrown talent and put Arsenal back in the frame after years of struggle previously.
He has not, though, been able to win the trophies that really demonstrate that success, with an FA Cup in 2019/20 and Community Shield successes in 2020/21 and 2023/24 the only trophies he's managed to add to Arsenal's cabinet to date.
That's a major negative for some but Timber isn't concerned and believes those trophies will be on the way before too long.
"He also very much expresses his confidence in me. That gives me a lot of confidence. I think he has changed a lot for the club and taken the club to a new level," he said.
"Now we have to wait for the prizes to come, but I certainly believe that with him as coach it is just a matter of time.
"I think he is very good with a lot of players, but he has also brought the winning mentality back into the team. And also how he behaves, what his attitude is towards the team and if you come to the club with so much passion, love and intensity, he also shows how it should be done and we follow him in that."
