Trossard: We knew what this meant to the fans
Yesterday at 05:08 PM
Leandro Trossard scored his first goal in 12 games to earn Arsenal three points in a 2-1 North London derby win this evening.
He spoke to TNT Sports afterwards, this is what he had to say.
A great feeling to win …
Yeah, that’s what we needed, a win today. We all know that we have to win those games, especially against Spurs. We know what it means to the fans, you can see everyone is buzzing, so it’s a great night for us.
Nothing better than a derby win …
No, definitely not. Especially those games, we know what it means to the fans. We were up for it today and we took the three points.
Scoring his first derby goal and it being the winner…
Yeah, it’s an amazing feeling, especially if it gives you the win as well. I’m just happy for everyone, we worked so hard day in and day out. I had to come in and today is the day, and now we need to look forward.
How much did Arsenal need those goals?
We’re pushing every day, as I say. The hardest thing in football is to get the ball in the net. I think we could have scored more today as well, but obviously we’re happy with the three points. Let’s celebrate tonight.
Putting pressure on the leaders …
Yeah, we always want to put pressure on them. We just can’t look at ourselves and that’s what we try to do in every game. We started today and as I say, we need to look forward now and take all the positives from today.
Let’s enjoy this win.
