According to a report this week, one Chelsea player is going to be given a chance to play for his future at the club over the upcoming busy festive period leading into the new year.

What the new year also brings is another transfer window. The January window is never going to be as manic as the summer window can be, largely because clubs do not want to sell or loan players in the middle of a season being played out. It's also a much shorter window than the summer of course. But even still, there is some business that many clubs will still be looking to do, just perhaps not as much as usual.

EXCLUSIVE! Some big early team news for Chelsea vs Leicester City as Enzo Maresca makes big reshuffle in midfield!

I expect Chelsea to be linked to a few players and perhaps having enquiries to sell some too. So we will have to wait and see how much business they decide to do in the winter window.

One player who has been rumoured to be a potential outgoing some time soon is Mykhailo Mudryk, purely because he is still down the pecking order of wingers at Chelsea, and it might be wise for him to push on now in order to get more game time going forward.

Chelsea seem to want to stick with him, but how long can that patience last?

Mudryk given lifeline

Mudryk to get more minutes?

According to Footy Insider, Chelsea will give Mykhaylo Mudryk the chance to play for his future over the busy festive period.

The winger is not playing regularly at Stamford Bridge and that has apparently alerted potential suitors in the Premier League.

The report says Chelsea will only allow Mudryk to depart in the new year if it is on their terms – with the club still feeling he can play a crucial role in the 2024-25 campaign.

Apparently, Blues head coach Enzo Maresca still sees the Ukrainian international as key to the club's chances in cup competitions, where he has played the majority of his minutes this term.
