Chelsea star tipped to leave just five months after £30m transfer

One of Chelsea’s summer signings has been tipped to leave the club less than six months after arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea spent well over £200m last summer, continuing their extraordinary spending spree under Todd Boehly, but some new signings are struggling to make an impact.
While £54m signing Pedro Neto has hit the ground running, the likes of Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho are struggling for game-time.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also endured a difficult spell in west London since his £30m move from Leicester City and could soon be heading for the exit door at Stamford Bridge, according to Emmanuel Petit.
Petit, who spent two-and-a-half seasons at Chelsea, has tipped Dewsbury-Hall for a loan move and says he ‘looks like the new Danny Drinkwater’.
Chelsea spent £35m to sign Drinkwater from Leicester in 2017 but the midfielder only played 23 games for the Blues across a five-year spell in west London before being released.
Dewsbury-Hall helped new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca win the Championship with Leicester last season but has barely featured this term and is yet to start a league game.
‘Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall looks like the new Danny Drinkwater at Chelsea,’ Petit told Casino Hawks.
‘He spent so much time on the bench and ended up going out on loan and that could well happen again with Dewsbury-Hall.
‘If I was a footballer being targeted by Chelsea, I'd be very, very careful about making my decision.
‘They have splashed so much money and bought so many young talented players that they have two or three teams in the dressing room.
‘I'd have to speak with the club to make sure that the board and the manager really want me because you're taking a big risk with your career.
‘If they don't have confidence in you then you'll end up on the bench and then in the stand and then gone. Be very careful when you join Chelsea.’
While Petit fears for Dewsbury-Hall’s Chelsea career, he believes ex-Wolves winger Neto could end up being the ‘the signing of the season’.
‘Pedro Neto could be the signing of the season,’ Petit added. ‘Step by step he has shown his qualities and his talent on the left-hand side and he has been superb for Chelsea of late.
‘He’s taking advantage of a position where some players have failed and that's a great thing for Chelsea.
‘You can see that there is more fluidity as well with the strikers and their movements and I've been really impressed with his performances.
‘He is often the main threat for Chelsea and now it's just about improving his goals and assist stats. He is playing with confidence and overall, Enzo Maresca should be very happy.’
Chelsea beat Leicester 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to continue their promising Premier League run.
The Blues were widely tipped to struggle before the start of the season but are third after 12 games, level on points with Premier League runners-up and London rivals Arsenal.
