Renato Veiga is attracting interest from both Bournemouth and Wolves as Chelsea assess enquiries for a number of players according to reports.

The Blues have made a good start to the season and sit fourth in the league, although they are winless in their last four games and the gap to Newcastle in fifth has dropped to a point.

The expectation was January would be a quiet month for Chelsea but defensive injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile means it's likely a new centre back will arrive in the window.

Outgoings are very much the main priority and there's thought to be a number of players Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for.

Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell have been told they can leave the club, whilst Cesare Casadei is attracting interest from Italy.

Chelsea are also open to both Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Axel Disasi leaving if suitable offers come in, with the pair attracting interest.

Another who could leave is Veiga, with the 21-year-old only joining in the summer from Swiss side FC Basel for €14m.

Veiga impressed in his early performances for the club and that form saw him earn his first caps for Portugal, but he's only started one league game all season, although he's featured in all six Conference League games and scored twice.

The Portugal international was left out of the squad for the Boxing Day defeat to Fulham for a lack of effort in training and reports have started to emerge linking him with a move away.

Napoli are believed to be exploring a loan move for Veiga, and Mail Sport have reported both Bournemouth and Wolves are interested in the Portuguese.

The report adds the Cherries would have to sign Veiga on a permanent deal given Kepa Arizzabalaga is already on loan, whilst Stuttgart and Juventus are also monitoring the situation.

It will be interesting to see what Chelsea decide to do with Veiga and given the injuries in the squad right now his versatility is important, and the Blues may hold off making a decision until they've decided what they are doing at centre back.
