(Image) Chelsea ace surprisingly tops one stat from Euro 2024 quarter finals

Marc Cucurella has been in brilliant form for Spain at Euro 2024, and the 25-year-old has surprisingly topped one stat from the quarter finals.

Cucurella has started every game for Spain, apart from the final group game against Albania which he was rested for, and he's been one of the standout performers not just for Spain but at the tournament.

The former Brighton man has struggled for large parts of his time at Chelsea, but he appears to have taken his strong end of season form onto the international stage, and is now just two games away from becoming a European champion.

Cucurella played the full 120 minutes of Spain's 2-1 victory against Germany in the last eight and he surprisingly topped one stat from across the quarter final fixtures.

In stats compiled by Sofascore Cucurella recorded a top speed of 35.5kph, the fastest of anyone across the quarter final fixtures.

He will need that speed and more if he has it to help him deal with the threat of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele in Tuesday's semi final against France.

Cucurella's resurgence has been great to see and there's every chance he will start next season as Chelsea's first choice left back under Enzo Maresca.
