Post-match reaction from the head coach

Chelsea may have lost against league-leaders Liverpool on Sunday, failing to win at Anfield for the ninth time in the last ten years, but head coach Enzo Maresca seemed to suggest afterwards that if we can keep playing like we did, we will have plenty of wins to show for our efforts in the future.

Trust the process!

"I think the performance was very good. [We] don't like losing games, dropping points but if you have to decide the way, then this is probably the way."

"[For] most parts of the game we dominated the game, but we lost. We are not happy. We don't like [it] but as I said, the performance on and off the ball was very good. [We] controlled the game for the most part and we have to be proud of this. At the same time, a bit upset because we don't like losing the game."

"For sure, we need to work not only for the clean sheet but we need to work on many things. "[We] can do many, many things better, no doubt. But at the same time, we need to understand game after game, the defensive line is getting better."

It was a game of fine margins, decided precisely by those fine margins: a lucky or unlucky bounce here or there, a couple borderline refereeing calls, a bit of individual quality and application. That's just how it goes in the Premier League these days.

But if we can keep our performances to this standard while we fine-tune some aspects in attack and defense and midfield, we should indeed win plenty of games going forward.
