Wolves manager Vitor Pereira insists Matheus Cunha is not for sale and has not asked to leave the club, amid interest from a string of Premier League sides.
The 25-year-old has been in good form this season, scoring 10 goals in the top flight despite Wolves struggling for results.
The Brazil international scored 12 times in the Premier League last season and he has really started to attract attention.
The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have all been linked with moves for the former Atletico Madrid striker this month.
Pereira, however, says he does not expect Cunha to leave and the forward has made no indication that he wants to.
Asked if there had been any bids for the Brazilian, Pereira told a press conference on Friday: ‘I don’t know, he’s my player and he’s not for sale. He’s committed to us.
‘He’s never asked to leave the club, he wants to help the team, he wants to be with us.’
Speculation surrounding the striker's future intensified on Monday night when Pereira, who was unhappy with his body language, had stern words with him during a 3-1 loss to Chelsea.
However, the manager said that issue has been cleared up, explaining: ‘He knows what I want from him, we had a conversation and it’s sorted. He’s ready to help the team.’
The Wolves boss has made it clear that he does want business to be done this month, saying his team needs two signings.
‘We need two players and the club is working,’ he said. ‘Time is running (out) and I hope the club can bring two more players.’
Wolves have lost their last three Premier League matches and are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference, but Pereira is speaking positively about their prospects.
‘I believe in my players, I believe in our work and we have confidence,’ he said. ‘We’re still together.
‘I want my team to play in the way that we should play and the last game was not a good game from us. It’s a very difficult league and for sure we will improve as a team. It’s important to believe in ourselves and what we are doing.’
