"I think it'll be a good advert for the league"

Paul Cook spoke to the media ahead of the Spireites’ League Two fixture with Port Vale. On the arrival of Jack Sparkes, he said: "He'll bring a nice balance, lovely left foot, great delivery with crosses into the box and a wealth of experience for such a young player. "He's played a lot of football games, especially playing for a big club like Portsmouth. To have a promotion under his belt with them and to have played the number of games he has done (is great)." Then speaking about capturing Kyle McFadzean's signature, he added: "He's got a really good name in football. We tried to sign Kyle in the summer, we've been trying to sign him for a period of time. He's very local to Chesterfield and the biggest thing was that he desperately wanted to come and play for us in the end. "That was really big for us. He can now have his family watch him every week and he can play football again."
