FORMER CLUBS – Crewe Alexander, Manchester United, Wigan Athletic, Leicester City (loan), Hull City (loan), Stoke City |
The striker seems to have been in the game for a long time and has had his fair share of clubs, but the former Crewe academy product had plenty of success at Wigan and Stoke before joining Stockport. |
THE NUMBERS
Stockport and Palace have only ever met once before in the FA Cup, a 2-1 win for the London side in the second round in December 1933.
Palace are unbeaten across their last 10 meetings with Stockport in all competitions (W5 D5), with this the first since a 1-0 away win in the second tier in January 2002.
Stockport have lost each of their last 5 FA Cup third round matches, last reaching the fourth round thanks to a 1-0 win at Preston in 2000-01.
Stockport have lost their last 6 FA Cup matches against Premier League opponents, most recently going down 1-0 against West Ham in January 2021. Their last such win was against QPR in the 1993-94 third round.
Palace have failed to progress from 4 of their last 5 FA Cup third round ties, with the exception coming against Millwall during a 2-1 victory in 2022.
KEY CLASH
EDDIE NKETIAH v FRASER HORSFALL |
The former Arsenal striker is expected to be given a chance from the start in this cup tie to hopefully gain some much needed confidence and will be up against a defender who has been very good form this season for the visitors. |

TEB PREDICTION
Oliver Glasner will likely field a strong line up for this cup tie if his attitude to the League Cup is anything to go by this season. If he does, then the hosts should just have enough to see off the League One side but the opponents should not be taken lightly. The FA Cup springs a number of surprises in the early rounds and Stockport have enjoyed back to back promotions to get themselves back up the football pyramid.
PREDICTED SCORE: 3-1 |
