The Grand Old Lady has at least one more cup game left

Just when you thought we had seen the back of Bournemouth, the Cherries will return to Goodison Park in the FA Cup fourth round.

Everton travelled to the south coast at the start of this month and failed to muster a shot on target in a 1-0 defeat that ultimately cost Sean Dyche his job.

The previous meeting at Goodison in August was even more traumatic. Leading 2-0 after 87 minutes (and having missed a host of chances to extend the lead) Everton conceded three goals - two in stoppage-time - to slip to one of the most dramatic defeats of recent times.

At least this gives Everton to chance to gain a bit of revenge on Andoni Iraiola's side, who are flying high in seventh in the Premier League. It is also one more precious game at Goodison Park before the Grand Old Lady shuts its doors for good this summer.

It will be the third time Everton have played Bournemouth in the FA Cup, with the previous meeting a 2-0 win for the Toffees at the Vitality Stadium in 2016. The game before that was way back in 1937, with Everton winning 5-0 at Goodison.

The tie will be played the weekend of 8-9 February.

After their third round game was controversially switched to a Thursday the hope is this game will be scheduled for Saturday or Sunday, especially as Liverpool have been handed an away tie.
