Everton and Tottenham will need at least $20m if they wish to sign Richard Ríos from Palmeiras this month.
That's according to Caracol Radio and AS Colombia, who both cover the Colombian midfielder today.
Reports in England have linked Everton and Tottenham with the 24-year-old this week, claiming both are eyeing up a move for him.
Caracol cover this and explain the good news for both sides is that the Brazilian club would be willing to negotiate for Ríos. However, they will only do so if their financial demands are met.
According to sources close to the club, the base price to start negotiations in $20m. The midfielder has a €100m release clause in his contract, though. This could complicate negotiations if a suitable proposal isn't offered.
Palmeiras are attentive to the situation and the possible negotiations. They don't intend to let Ríos go cheaply even if they're open to a sale.
AS back this up somewhat, stating that it would be difficult for Ríos to leave Brazil this month. That’s despite interest from Everton and Tottenham.
That's primarily because he's tied to a contract until 2028. That includes a release clause which the Premier League clubs 'see as an obstacle'. AS also say this is valued at €100m.
Neither Everton or Tottenham are going to pay such a figure, or would be able to anyway, and so a move seems unlikely.
