"We've won 2 trophies in 4 days" – Player hitting huge career heights after Everton exit

While Everton may have been a pit of misery for many in recent years, there is sometimes a green upland elsewhere. Just ask Salomón Rondón.
Sport cover the player today as he continues to hit new career heights with Pachuca in Mexico and put his miserable time at Everton firmly behind him.
The newspaper explains that the 35-year-old is 'living a second youth' at his current club, where this season he has 26 goals and five assists. He's the MVP of the ConcaChampions and the top scorer and now has Real Madrid in his sights.
They take the Spanish giants on in Wednesday Intercontinental Cup final, where the striker is determined to make his mark and continue his career revival.
He's already finishing this year with plenty of trophies to his name, winning the CONCACAF Champions Cup, the FIFA Challenger Cup and the FIFA Derby of the Americas.
He's also shared the Liga MX top goal scorer award as well as winning the Golden Ball and top scorer awards at the Champions Cup as well as making it into the Best XI.
It's a far cry from what he endured at Everton, and he has no plans to stop, potentially adding a defeat of Real Madrid to his collection this week.
“I am very happy and proud to be part of this human and sporting group and to be able to live this moment. We have achieved great achievements this year, but we have one last final left, and we are going for it with all the enthusiasm in the world," he said.
“We have won two trophies in four days, who was going to tell us. We are going for the third trophy against Real Madrid, with humility but also with great enthusiasm.
"Since you are little, you dream of facing big teams in big stadiums, being in these types of situations and fight for a title. I was lucky to face Real Madrid when I played in Las Palmas and Málaga, I know that it is not easy and that you have to leave everything on the field, but we are prepared for it.
“I am enjoying this year to the fullest, I think you can see it in every game I play, beyond the individual awards I have had. The last one was the nomination for The Best award for best striker, and I am very grateful to the teammates from Pachuca and the Venezuelan team for helping me achieve it."
