There has been quite a bit of speculation this summer concerning a number of Nottingham Forest stars – with Murillo in the sights of a number of clubs.

The defender signed for Forest in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £10.4 million and his displays have caught the eye.

Forest beat off competition from Manchester City to land Murillo from Corinthians and now a whole host of clubs want to sign the defender.

Aside from Murillo, Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi have also been linked with bigger clubs already this summer.

With that in mind, Forest are perhaps facing a fight to keep hold of their top stars – although the price will need to be high for the Reds to consider any business.

Now, some news has come to light regarding Murillo that perhaps offers cause for concern for Forest.

Agent delivers worrying claim about Forest star Murillo

It’s probably not a secret that at some point in his career, Murillo would like to move to a bigger club than Forest.

Indeed, his agent, Hugo Giuseppe, might just be pushing for that to happen quicker than Forest are hoping for.

In an interview with Benjamin Back for Premier League Brazil, he’s suggested that he’s not convinced Forest will be able to keep Murillo.

He said: “We know through the club that there are talks between Nottingham (Forest) and some clubs.

“I think it’s very difficult for a player who has exceeded all expectations to continue.

“It’s very difficult for a club like Nottingham Forest to keep a player who is being sought after by the biggest clubs in Europe.”

Teams will have to stump up the cash if they want Murillo

With Forest selling Orel Mangala, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Moussa Niakhate to comply with financial fair play, it looks as though things are on the up.

As a result, any big clubs who want to take the better players from Forest will either have to put up or simply shut up.

Fine, his agent will be rooting for the best deal for his client but ultimately, unless a club makes a substantial bid Murillo will probably stay put.

At 22-years-old, Murillo has bags of time to get himself hooked up with a much bigger club than Forest.

However, right now his development would surely be better served at the City Ground where he is guaranteed regular football on a regular basis.
