Nottingham Forest won 3-0 at Wolves on Monday night to continue a run of seriously impressive form in the Premier League.

It’s now six wins in succession for the Reds and Nuno Espirito Santo has got his team playing some seriously impressive football.

Morgan Gibbs-White got the ball rolling last night with a goal against his former club just seven minutes into the contest.

Chris Wood added a 13th goal of the season on the stroke of half-time, whilst Taiwo Awoniyi wrapped things up in second-half stoppage time.

Jamie Carragher raved about Gibbs-White during the contest and it was another fine performance for him.

Elsewhere, Espirito Santo paid tribute to Matz Sels with a number of seriously impressive saves coming from the Belgian.

Alan Shearer doesn’t name Morgan Gibbs-White in his Team of the Week

Over the course of the season so far, Shearer has been very kind towards Forest and has been impressed by the team.

He always picks the official Premier League Team of the Week and after game week 20 was completed his compiled his latest selection.

Although Forest have plenty of names among the picks, the shocking admission is Gibbs-White.

The Reds’ number 10 got the ball rolling for Forest and was largely brilliant throughout the contest as the team ran riot in the West Midlands.

Gibbs-White celebrated wildly after his goal but his performance wasn’t enough to make it into Shearer’s Team of the Week on this occasion.

Matz Sels, Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic were the selected players, with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo also named as the manager.

Shearer said on Sels: “He’s having a great season and made some big saves. He kept another clean sheet and also played a part in Forest’s second goal.”

Another member of the defensive unit to get the nod was Milenkovic and on him, Shearer called him a ‘tower of strength.”

Anderson was perhaps a surprise pick as he was booked and later substituted at Molineux.

But, Shearer explained: “He bossed the midfield against Wolves. A very impressive performance.”

Finally, Espirito Santo just cannot escape plaudits at the moment, despite the fact that the Forest head coach is staying firmly grounded.

On the boss, Shearer said: “Forest are flying under him and the sky’s the limit with the way they are going this season.”

Forest are next in action in the Premier League against league leaders Liverpool and Gibbs-White will perhaps hope to impress Shearer sufficiently during that game.
