Nottingham Forest won again yesterday this time beating Brentford 2-0 to become the first team to win at the Gtech Community Stadium this season.

It’s now three wins in succession for Forest and it means that the team will be fourth in the table on Christmas Day.

Brian Laws hailed the tactical switch made by Nuno Espirito Santo and playing three central defenders did feel like a bit of a masterstroke.

Forest’s solid form is being built on brilliant defensive foundations and it’s perhaps telling that the team kept another clean sheet yesterday.

Thomas Frank was a little bit detrimental about Forest afterwards but Espirito Santo won’t care one jot.

Ashley Williams raves about Nottingham Forest star Murillo

Manchester City wanted Murillo before Forest signed him in the summer of 2023 and given their current plight, they must wish they’d signed him!

Yesterday, Murillo played alongside Nikola Milenkovic and Morato at centre-back at Brentford and the three richly deserved a clean sheet.

When offering some analysis after the highlights had been shown, Williams decided to hail Murillo and admitted he’s a big fan of the Forest man.

He said on Match of the Day: “You see here Murillo, who I think has been excellent for Forest, he wins the ball back and he’s got the ability to recycle it.”

Forest will get eyewatering transfer fee for Murillo

If the Reds can maintain their current form and qualify for Europe there will be a number of players in the sights of other clubs.

However, not too many will be itching to leave should the team have European football to look forward to next season.

Ian Wright has raved about Murillo before and Forest are extremely lucky to have him as part of the current ranks.

It was claimed in the summer that Forest value Murillo at £70 million and it would be staggering if the club could get that fee.

However, if Forest continue on their current path towards glory, perhaps Evangelos Marinakis will be demanding even more for the star man.
