Nottingham Forest claimed a big draw against an in-form Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge over the weekend.

Forest scored through Chris Wood and after the game, Ally McCoist admitted he’s a big fan of the Reds talisman.

Noni Madueke equalised just nine minutes after the Forest goal and after James Ward-Prowse was sent off, the Reds had to stand firm.

The club are a different animal these days and Forest were able to stand firm thanks to the brilliant Matz Sels between the posts.

Joe Hart shared that Sels had won Forest a point, although the last action of the game saw Jota Silva draw a huge save from Robert Sanchez.

The Reds have now taken 10 points from the first seven games and that does represent a very positive start to the campaign.

Noni Madueke shares what really annoyed him about Forest

Madueke has enjoyed a quality start to the 2024/25 campaign and his goal against Forest was cracking.

The England international naturally wanted Chelsea to win the contest but he’s found time to praise Forest for their performance yesterday.

He told BBC Sport: “They are a stubborn side. We went into the game with the intention to take three points but we couldn’t get over the line and it’s frustrating.

“They were defending pretty much the whole game and sometimes it just doesn’t fall. We go into the international break and come back prepared for Liverpool.

“Credit to them, they are resilient with a lot of players behind the ball. They know if you give us space we are dangerous, having said that we could have scored three, four or five, but it’s one of those games.”

Forest now a different animal

The Reds are a completely different animal at the moment and it’s great to see.

Andy Jacobs was incensed live on TalkSPORT and he felt that Forest spent all game cheating at Stamford Bridge.

Madueke was thankfully a little bit more composed during his interview and it’s good to hear Forest getting some recognition.

Forest have proven now that they can mix it away with the big boys and the challenge is to start getting results on home soil.

Nuno Espirito Santo has earned the chance to put his own stamp on the Forest team and yesterday’s performance highlighted that everyone is pulling in the same direction.
