'Spoiling football': Pundit accuses Nottingham Forest of 'cheating' vs Chelsea in scathing rant on air

Nottingham Forest have managed to boil some serious proverbial among the Chelsea fan base after escaping from a Stamford Bridge battle with a share of the spoils.

Forest went there with a game plan. Much like Nuno Espirito Santo did when the Reds faced Liverpool, it was designed to frustrate defensively and be a threat on the counter.

Once again, the plan worked with aplomb. The Reds led when Chris Wood fired home, with Ally McCoist raving about the Forest talisman.

Noni Madueke equalised for Chelsea and after James Ward-Prowse was sent off, Forest were forced to dig in and ensure that a point came back to the City Ground.

Forest star Neco Williams caused a mass confrontation late in the piece and Chelsea face a fine with six of their players receiving cautions.

Andy Jacobs delivers amazing rant on Nottingham Forest

It would appear that the game plan adopted by Forest didn’t go down too well with those of a Chelsea persuasion.

Andy Jacobs has been on TalkSPORT for 21 years and he’s also a season card holder with Chelsea.

He felt that the tactics from a Forest perspective were unsavoury, to say the least, and has delivered an astonishing take on things.

He said live on TalkSPORT: “If you like that sort of thing, Forest were excellent and their game plan nearly worked. They could even have nicked it at the end. Chelsea missed a lot, Sels was excellent and so was Sanchez at the end.

“It was so boring, one of the match reports said Forest were experts at game management – or cheating as I call it. The timewasting, Sels at one point went down injured, I mean we can all see there’s nothing wrong with him.

“The referee should have added on at least 25 minutes but that’s the way it goes. Chelsea have played Nuno teams nine times now and won twice. He plays this terrible, spoiling football and if I had to watch that football every week I don’t think I’d bother.”

Jacobs showing disrespect to brilliant Forest game plan

What are a club like Forest supposed to do against a Chelsea side who have been blowing teams away? Simply rock up, roll over and say to Cole Palmer, get yourself another match ball, young man?

Football is a game of styles. Forest can’t compete with a club like Chelsea who merely sign a gazillion players every transfer window and push the PSR boundaries like no other club dares to.

Forest have been meticulous in the transfer market. Quality over quantity has been the order of the day for the Reds and they perhaps off Todd Bohely a glimpse of how to actually recruit properly at the Premier League level.

Jacobs has don’t nothing here other than out himself as a self-entitled fan of a big six club. He genuinely is of the belief that Forest should go to Stamford Bridge and simply roll over.

It must really hurt Jacobs that Forest haven’t lost at the home of Chelsea since winning promotion back to the Premier League.

Espirito Santo has got things bang on with his game plan yesterday and for Jacobs he simply has to suck it up and accept that there is more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to football.
