Gary Lineker thinks he knows another reason why Tuchel reversed his MGW snub at Nottingham Forest

Common sense prevailed on Sunday night as Nottingham Forest attacker Morgan Gibbs-White was called into the England squad by Thomas Tuchel.
There was uproar on the banks of the River Trent on Friday morning. Gibbs-White was inexplicably omitted from the England squad, despite Forest being third in the Premier League and the 25-year-old being brilliant.
However, an injury to Cole Palmer has seen Gibbs-White get the chance. Now, the Forest man will report with the rest of the squad to St George’s Park later on Monday afternoon.
Gibbs-White registered another assist against Ipswich on Saturday as the Reds ran out 4-2 winners at Portman Road to further enhance the chances of playing Champions League football next season.

The Match of the Day host is taking some of the credit for this decision himself.
Danny Murphy said on Match of the Day that Gibbs-White should have been in the squad when Tuchel originally made his picks for games against Albania and Latvia.
Now, Lineker thinks that Tuchel might actually be a big admirer of Match of the Day and has taken his advice on the Forest star.
He said on The Rest is Football podcast: “I think maybe the power of Match of the Day. We said on Saturday night that we were surprised he wasn’t in the squad and then low and behold the day after he was in the squad. I think Tuchel must be a big Match of the Day fan.

It was a pin-point delivery from Gibbs-White that essentially made Jota Silva’s finish so much easier, with the player grabbing his third Premier League goal this season.
Gibbs-White is quite remarkable at times. He has showcased in recent weeks that he’s capable of dropping deeper and playing as a number eight along with his duties as a number 10.

An England call-up is the absolute least that he deserves. The Three Lions have two very straightforward games to play and hopefully, the Reds captain can get on the pitch and make an impact.
Gibbs-White will have been devastated to receive the news on Friday but now he will need to grasp this chance with both hands to ensure that Tuchel doesn’t hand him any further bad news in the future.
