Nottingham Forest fans have taken a liking to a player from a Premier League rival as an update emerged on his future recently.

Nuno Espirito Santo has done well to strengthen for the right prices at Nottingham Forest this season, as Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic’s respective £35m and £12m moves look like bargains.

Although he only joined in the summer, Alan Shearer has already voted Milenkovic in the Premier League Team of the Season.

Two other signings, Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva, have looked bright at times, but they’ve not really been giving the minutes to find some consistency and really excel for the Reds.

Nevertheless, it appears as if Forest fans have their eyes on another potential transfer they’d like their side to make, this time in the January transfer window.

Evan Ferguson made available for loan by Brighton and Hove Albion ahead of January

Evan Ferguson has appeared in just 105 minutes of football for Brighton so far this season.

He’s struggled to make an impact when leading the line for the Seagulls with one goal to his name, which has seen Fabian Hurzeler turn to Danny Welbeck as the number nine.

And now it appears as if Brighton are putting his development first as they’ve made him available for a loan move ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the Telegraph, Brighton do not wish to sell permanently but would be willing to sanction a loan deal.

Nottingham Forest only have Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood as the recognised strikers, so they could do with some added quality in case one of them suffers an injury and to bolster competition.

After all, the Nigerian has struggled to replicate his form prior to suffering an injury at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest fans react to the Evan Ferguson news

Many Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, have been calling for Ferguson to be signed in January.

"100% we should be all over that.", @shaunbeighton said.

@OKI3_Brit is right up for the idea: "Absolutely! We have been looking at understudies to Wood potentially. He is 20 and clearly talented and gives us coverage even in the immediate if something happens to Wood or Awoniyi. Love that idea as I know Chris from @NFFCallover supports this move.."

@shaunha46565075 stated: "Snap their hand off. Lad is class."

@seeyah74 mentioned: "Get him in unbelievable talent ….Forest would bring out best in him."

"Loan to buy would be perfect.", @JamesClark96684 suggested a loan to buy.

@CarnorJax87 commented: "Hell yes."
