Nottingham Forest fans have a lot to say as Elliot Anderson spotted watching Newcastle United

Nottingham Forest managed to sign Elliot Anderson in the summer of 2024 for a fee in the region of £35 million, with Newcastle needing a sale to meet the latest PSR requirements.
Newcastle’s desire to sell is a sorry state of affairs for modern-day football. Why should clubs have to offload their crown jewels in order to avoid sanctions when other clubs can seemingly get away with very little repercussions?
Forest offset the £35 million by selling Odysseas Vlachodimos to Newcastle for £20 million. As a result, the Reds definitely got the better end of the bargain, with Anderson shining so far this season.
The 22-year-old might now be looking back at Newcastle with a tinge of sadness. Yesterday, he was in the stands at Wembley as his boyhood club won a major trophy for the first time in his life by lifting the Carabao Cup.

Forest fans react as Elliot Anderson is spotted watching Newcastle at Wembley
It’s hard not to be a little bit happy for Newcastle. Forest should have actually knocked the Magpies out and had Ibrahim Sangare scored his penalty in the shootout, Eddie Howe’s team would have lost at the first hurdle.
Yesterday, the Magpies beat Liverpool at Wembley with Anderson watching on and fans of Forest took to social media to react to the Forest midfielder’s visit.
Another fan wrote: “Brilliant. He’s a football fan as well as a Forest, Champions League player.”
Another Forest fan claimed that the system let Anderson down – even if it has benefitted Forest.
The fan said: “He was robbed of being on that pitch because of broken financial rules.”
Finally, another fan wrote: “Fair play. Never forget your roots. Champions League beckons for him.”
Elliot Anderson stats 2024/25
It’s fair to say that Anderson has proved a lot of people wrong with his form for Forest during the 2024/25 campaign.
He came to Forest having not played too much football and he’s learned how to cope with being considered a regular starter every week.

Anderson took some time to get a permanent place in the team but now he’s one of the first names on the team sheet under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The scary thing about Anderson is that he’s just getting started and Forest look to have hit the jackpot once again when it comes to the recruitment of the Newcastle player.
