Nottingham Forest player told he will be worth £30m in a few years after costing just £700k

Nottingham Forest kept their powder dry in January with no players arriving at the football club.

Evangelos Marinakis was desperate to bring a striker to the club but failed in moves for Yoane Wissa and Matheus Cunha.

The summer will likely be different and Forest will have the luxury of not spending unnecessary cash in the January transfer window.

Forest did bring in Joel Ndala on deadline day, but it’s crystal clear that he’s very much viewed as one for the future.

The business with one eye on the years ahead didn’t stop there either, with Reading defender Tyler Bindon checking in before joining the Royals on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Tyler Bindon told how much he will be worth in a few years

The centre-back looks like a very talented performer and at 20-years-old he looks like a very astute purchase.

Reading fans have hailed Bindon as a future star, and he’s been a regular for the League One play-off chasers this season.

He’s already made 40 appearances across the 2024/25 campaign and is holding his own in a league that is notoriously physical.

Forest parted with just £700,000 to land the New Zealand international, and a Reading-supporting journalist at the Telegraph believes he will soon be worth much more.

Ji-Min Lee posted on X: “£700k for Bindon is hardly surprising given his contract situation, but still doesn’t feel great when you know he’s going to be worth £30m+ in a few years.”

Bindon joined Reading in 2023 from LAFC and the New Zealand performer helped his country reach the 2026 World Cup on Monday.

Forest are unlikely to need too many central defenders in the summer, if any at all.

Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo have been fantastic this season, whilst Morato has provided more than adequate backup.

Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele might leave the football club and perhaps Forest will sign a new fourth-choice central defender in the summer.

Bindon will likely get a chance to shine in pre-season.

Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t neglected the younger players too much since arriving at the club and that bodes well for the centre-back.

Given his performances this season, it will be fascinating to see what happens with him and the ball will be firmly in Bindon’s court in the summer.
