Nottingham Forest’s impressive start to the season has the Reds sitting comfortably inside the top half of the table.

Sunday is going to offer Forest with another opportunity at three points having won their opening two games away from the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo has to be delighted with the start his side has made to the new campaign as they sit on eight points already.

However, it has not exactly been a smooth start in terms of injuries with the Reds having already picked up a number of concerning issues.

Going into the game on the weekend down on the south coast, Nuno has provided an injury update as Forest look to maintain their unbeaten start.

And there is one player who has been making some progress behind the scenes.

Nuno Espirito Santo provides Willy Boly injury update

Having started the season opener against Bournemouth, Willy Boly has only played a further minute in the other three games.

The centre-back made a cameo display in the game against Southampton with Nuno looking to seal the three points.

However, he did miss the game against Liverpool on the weekend with Boly having picked up an injury whilst away on international duty.

Speaking on Friday ahead of Forest’s trip to the Amex Stadium, Nuno has provided the latest on Boly’s injury status.

“The same players are out. [Willy] Boly is really close to joining the group. Unfortunately Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo are out for a while,” he told BBC Sport.

Although Boly is not going to be available for the game against Brighton, this is a big boost for those at Forest.

Nottingham Forest could maintain unbeaten start

There won’t have been many people who would have expected Forest to make an unbeaten start to their campaign through the first four games.

Clearly, something is working for the Reds on the road with their two wins both coming away from home.

And Forest will also have another few days of rest on the Seagulls with Brighton having been in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday.

But the pressure has been removed from the Reds going into this weekend following a sensational start from Nuno’s men.
