Nottingham Forest will go in search of some new players this month, although anybody who signs will need to represent an upgrade on the current crop.

The Reds are flying high in the Premier League right now. Forest are sitting in third place in the table with a brilliant total of 40 points from 20 matches and Liverpool to play at home next.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been praised by Jamie Redknapp this season. He’s changed the perception of not only the football club but also enhanced his own reputation in the process.

The Reds have been linked with a number of players so far this month. Yesterday, it emerged that Forest liked the look of Marcus Edwards and that might be one deal to keep tabs on.

Mathys Tel looks to be staying at Bayern amid Forest links. Elsewhere, Botafogo striker Igor Jesus is a wanted man and he’s another player who the Reds might find themselves missing out on.

Nottingham Forest want PSG star Kang-in Lee

According to On the Minute, the South Korea international is going to be a wanted man this month. PSG have made the decision to part with the 23-year-old and Premier League clubs are now queuing up to sign him.

Forest aren’t alone in this race. Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham are all vying for his services with the versatile forward falling down the pecking order under Luis Enrique.

Lee has been with PSG since 2023 when he signed from Real Mallorca. The player has scored six goals and claimed three assists this season with the Ligue 1 outfit valuing him at around £35 million.

Forest could go in search of another attacker this month. Chris Wood does have 12 goals this season with Taiwo Awoniyi the talisman tasked with providing the competition from the bench.

What Heung-min Son has said about Forest target Lee

The forward has scored nine goals in 35 appearances for the South Korea national team. As a result, he’s spent a lot of time playing alongside Tottenham captain Son during his career.

In November 2023 after a round of international fixtures, Son hailed Lee. He told Sungmo Lee: “Kang-in Lee’s talent is incredible. I believe he can grow even further. We have to help him not to get to much pressure.”

Signing Lee would be an interesting one for Forest. It’s not as though Lee hasn’t played any football this season and his form when called upon for PSG has largely been impressive.

With the size of the Premier League clubs vying for Lee, landing him might be difficult. The likes of Newcastle, Tottenham and Manchester United provide significant attraction and it could be tricky for Forest.

However, there is clearly a project in place at the City Ground right now. If Evangelos Marinakis can work his magic and tempt him to become a part of that, the 23-year-old might prove a very useful signing indeed.
