Nottingham Forest will go in search of a new player or two before the January transfer window slams shut in early February.
The Reds are riding high in the Premier League and head to Bournemouth next weekend in a lofty league position.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been hailed by pundits this season. Forest have been defeated just four times this season and are on an eight-match unbeaten run.
As a result, new signings aren’t really a mandatory requirement. However, Evangelos Marinakis would like a new striker to add to the ranks before the window slams shut.
It does remain to be seen what will happen this month. With Forest on the verge of something brilliant being achieved, perhaps Marinakis will roll the dice in the coming weeks.
Nottingham Forest want Thomas Kristensen
The Reds might not feel as though they need too much this month and it’s even more surprising that a new defender might be on the shortlist.
Forest already have a wealth of central defensive options, however, On the Minute claims that the Reds are in the mix to sign Udinese player Kristensen this month.
Espirito Santo doesn’t hold the aces with this deal. Juventus are actually pushing to sign him, with Leicester and Brentford offering competition from the Premier League.
Kristensen has only made nine appearances this season but does have a contract with the Serie A outfit until 2028.
The 6ft 6in man mountain has been in Italy since 2023 when he transferred from Aarhus in Denmark and has made 35 appearances for Udinese.
Worryingly Kristensen has had his fair share of injury issues and that would represent a cause for concern if Forest went for him.
Forest should only sign attacking players this month
Signing a new defender makes zero sense. Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Morato have all been brilliant when called upon this season, with Willy Boly also very capable.
Kristensen’s physical presence would be a very useful asset but there is a sense that Forest really don’t need a central defender this month.
Attacking players aren’t really in short supply but the squad options away from the first eleven are somewhat raw and inexperienced such as Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa.
As a result, it’s imperative that Forest get the attacking players they crave in this month and hopefully, this Kristensen deal is one with the summer in mind instead.
