For the second international break running, Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White will be heading off to represent England.

The 24-year-old made his debut in September, playing for the final 17 minutes as England defeated the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.

Gibbs-White didn’t make a Wembley appearance and was an unused substitute when the Three Lions defeated Finland on home soil.

With a number of top players such as Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer back in the squad this time, Gibbs-White might have been anxious.

However, Lee Carsley has stayed loyal to his man and named Forest talisman Gibbs-White in his latest squad.

England play against Finland again and Greece during the next fortnight and Gibbs-White will be hoping to pull on the famous strip once again.

It’s fair to say that his call-up this time has caused quite a stir to some supporters.

Forest fans for years have been the ones calling for Gibbs-White to earn a place in the squad and now it’s the turn of Tottenham supporters to take aim at the Reds.

Tottenham fans in agreement over Morgan Gibbs-White call-up for England

Spurs have had a fair bit to shout about of late – but James Maddison has been overlooked by Carsley for his latest squad.

Since the last international break, Maddison has worked hard to improve his form but Gibbs-White has been given the nod instead.

Spurs fans don’t agree with the decision and clearly feel that their man should have been named instead of the Forest player.

Another Spurs fan wrote: “Gibbs-White over Maddison is outrageous.”

Another pretty angry Tottenham fan wrote: “Gibbs-White over Maddison. Another clueless England manager.”

Someone else couldn’t believe Maddison had been left out, saying: “Gibbs-White getting called up ahead of Maddison is kinda crazy.”

Finally, another Spurs fan wrote: Gibbs-White over Madders is just bizarre.”

Gibbs-White has nothing to prove during England call-up

The 24-year-old loves to let his football do the talking an it’s hard to argue with Tottenham fans in this sense.

Not because Maddison is a better footballer than Gibbs-White – he’s not! But, because Forest fans always have a target when their man hasn’t been called up in the past.

Forest fans have watched first-hand just how much Gibbs-White has grown as a player during the last two years at the football and it’s been exciting to see.

Naturally, he will want to keep scoring goals and creating them in order to keep getting into the England squad but he has nothing to prove.

Gibbs-White wasn’t fazed when he came on the pitch for England last month and hopefully, he gets more of a run out this time around under Carsley.
