'A monster': Barry Douglas says Liverpool have a small player who's actually so strong

Diogo Jota is one of Liverpool's very best players these days.
Jota has been described as one of the most underrated players in the Premier League, and for good reason.
The attacker is so often the man for the big moments for Liverpool, but he barely gets the credit he deserves compared to the likes of Mohamed Salah.
Jota is a top talent, and while many praise the striker for his finishing ability, according to Barry Douglas, speaking on Under the Cosh, Jota has another surprising trait that not many people pick up on.
Indeed, Douglas says that while Jota isn't the biggest player, standing at just 5 ft 10, he's an incredibly physically strong player.
Diogo Jota is so strong
Douglas spoke about Jota and how strong he is for his size.
Indeed, the full-back says that Jota is like a monster when he attacks, claiming that the striker can just barge through people with ease.
"He’s like a monster. He doesn’t look like a big physical kind of player, but he’s just like raw, barges through people, right place, right time. And I think he’s probably transitioned a wee bit more centrally because he played left wing,' Douglas said.
I’d like to say I got the best out of him, but he probably got the best out of me. Give him the ball and let him go and do it."
Jota is also great in the air
Jota is a player who can be something of a surprise package at times.
Given his stature and his frame, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Jota is just an incredibly technical player who utilises his pace to torment defenders.
While that is partially true, Jota also has plenty more to his game.
Indeed, as Douglas says, Jota is a very strong player, and he's also brilliant in the air.
Ivan Toney recently named Jota as the best header of a ball in the Premier League, while Ally McCoist has previously hailed Jota for his aerial ability.
Jota may not look as big and strong as a player like Erling Haaland or Darwin Nunez, but make no mistake about it, the attacker does still pack a punch in a physical and aerial sense.
Jota is such an important player for Liverpool, and he could have a big say on the Reds' title tilt this season.
