Liverpool have a couple of players facing key fixtures at Euro 2024 this evening.

Andy Robertson is in action for Scotland, with the Liverpool full-back needing a victory to be in with a chance of making the knockout stages.

The Scotland skipper will be up against a familiar face in Dominik Szoboszlai with Hungary also needing all three points.

Both players are yet to pick up a win in Germany but Scotland did head into the game with one more point than Szoboszlai's Hungary.

Despite a disappointing tournament for the Hungarian so far, David Moyes has been impressed with what he's seen from the Liverpool playmaker.

Moyes lauds Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai

Szoboszlai got off to a flyer under Jurgen Klopp last season after his £60 million switch from RB Leipzig.

The midfielder struggled slightly after returning from a hamstring injury in March though, which led to him dropping out of the Liverpool side.

However, while speaking on BBC One's coverage of Hungary vs Scotland tonight, Moyes explained why he feels Szoboszlai enjoyed an encouraging debut season at Anfield.

"I think he has actually done well for Liverpool this year," the former West Ham boss said. "He was a young player coming into the Premier League. I think he has great energy, really powerful, can play several positions for them as well."

Szoboszlai could be key under Arne Slot

With Slot favouring a slightly different system to Klopp, that should benefit some of Liverpool's key stars, including Szoboszlai.

The midfielder was often tasked with a box-to-box role as part of Klopp's 4-3-3. But Slot likes one his midfielders to play in a more advance role, which should lend itself well to Szoboszlai.

The 23-year-old racked up seven goals and four assists last term but there's likely to be plenty more to come from him in terms of his output in the final third.
