Adrian now sends message to player Alisson Becker called 'special' after he departs Liverpool

Liverpool are not in need of any emergency signings in the January transfer window.
Arne Slot has the Reds sat six points clear at the top of the Premier League – with a game in hand too – after steering Liverpool to 14 wins and four draws from 19 games so far.

With plenty of quality on the bench too – such as Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott – the Dutchman will surely be quite satisfied with his squad.
However, there has been a departure in the first week of the Winter transfer window – which Adrian San Miguel has reacted to on Instagram.
Adrian San Miguel sends message to Marcelo Pitaluga
Liverpool announced on Monday that Marcelo Pitaluga has left Anfield to join Fluminense on a free transfer.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was actually signed from Fluminense in a £1m deal back in October 2020 – having impressed Liverpool as Brazil won the U17 World Cup.
After Liverpool announced Pitaluga’s exit on Instagram, Adrian wrote: “Buena suerte Marcelito (Good luck Marcelito)”.
The 22-year-old never actually made an appearance for Liverpool, which is understandable when you consider Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher have been ahead of him in the pecking order.
Pitaluga – who Alisson called “special” – did, however, make 37 appearances for the Liverpool U21 side during his time at Anfield, conceding 63 goals while also keeping nine clean sheets.
Life was only set to become harder for Marcelo Pitaluga at Liverpool
We can understand why Pitaluga has now been allowed to leave Merseyside.
Not only did the Niteroi-born glovesman have Alisson and Kelleher ahead of him in the pecking order, but Liverpool also signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia back in August, with the Georgia international arriving in July 2025.
That deal strongly suggested Liverpool never had any plans to promote Pitaluga.
Hopefully, the South American can now get his senior career up and running back at Fluminense, after working with one of the best around in Alisson for several years.
