Leeds United have endured a tough summer transfer window having lost a number of key assets.

Championship Player of the Year Crysencio Summerville has left for West Ham United whilst Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have also departed for the Premier League.

Largie Ramazani has joined as Summerville’s successor and now Leeds are on the verge of signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon.

After they’ve completed that deal, they should table a second offer for a Championship playmaker to replace Rutter.

Leeds should table second offer for Gustavo Hamer

Leeds United have just seen a £13m offer rejected for Sheffield United’s attacking midfielder Gustavo Hamer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Blades talisman enjoyed a terrific debut season on a personal level last term, netting five times whilst laying on eight assists from midfield.

The Whites are evidently looking to bring in an attacking midfield before deadline day on Friday and should test the waters with a second offer.

Hamer, who’s been labelled ‘unplayable’ per The Star, was targetted by Elland Road chiefs last summer but he opted to join United likely due to their Premier League status.

It’s certainly worth a shot as the South Yorkshire club are thought to be operating on a limited budget this summer, so they may need to make a big sale to avoid further PSR issues.

Gustavo Hamer would be a game-changing signing

If Leeds were to sign Hamer, it would send out a real statement of intent to the rest of the Championship and it could fire them to the title.

The former Coventry City man is considered one of the top five players in the division, so evidently, his arrival would represent a massive coup.

A telling few days await.
