Arsenal have started this Premier League season about as well as they could have.

Arsenal are unbeaten so far in the league, but they've rarely been able to field their best XI.

Indeed, while Arsenal have been very good, they have struggled with injuries as the likes of Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Ben White have had spells on the sidelines.

Arsenal have had to rotate their squad a fair bit, and that's meant that a few fringe players have had to step up.

Thomas Partey has been more important for Arsenal this season than he has been for a while, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Darren Bent has been full of praise for the Ghanaian.

Darren Bent hails Thomas Partey's performances for Arsenal

Bent spoke highly of Partey, claiming that all of a sudden he's become an important player for Arsenal.

The midfielder was vital for Arsenal two years ago, but Partey has struggled with injuries as of late, and that saw him lose his place in the team.

However, now, he's getting back to his best, and that is huge for Arsenal.

"Partey has been incredible. I think at the minute with Partey, the way he's playing, I have got so much confidence in him, and I get what you are saying, Merino when he comes on and Rice, but all of a sudden," Bent said.

Will Thomas Partey stay at Arsenal?

Partey has been brilliant for Arsenal this season, but his future is still up in the air.

Partey's contract is up at the end of this season, and there has been plenty of speculation about a potential departure from the Emirates.

However, it has recently been reported that Arsenal are ready to discuss a new contract with Partey, so he could be set to stay in north London.

That said, if Partey does leave, Arsenal have already earmarked Martin Zubimendi as a potential replacement.

If Partey keeps up this level of form, Arsenal would be wise to keep hold of the midfielder, but at the age of 31, Partey is getting to the age where decisions around his future are becoming more and more difficult to make.
