Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez injury update ahead of Bournemouth vs Brighton

Andoni Iraola expects Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez to be available for Bournemouth’s Premier League clash against Brighton on Saturday.
Both Semenyo and Kerkez played a full game in Bournemouth’s 3-2 defeat to Brentford on November 9 but Semenyo did not play for Ghana during the international break, while Kerkez was taken out of Hungary’s squad.
Iraola has revealed that Semenyo and Kerkez are both carrying ongoing injuries which required rest during the international break, but the two players are due to train ahead of Bournemouth’s match at home to Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
‘Everyone that has gone with the national team is available,’ Iraola said on Friday.
‘Everyone has come healthy, obviously some of them have played more minutes and they will be more tired but that’s expected, but no new injuries from that side.’
Asked specifically about Semenyo’s injury, Iraola replied: ‘With Antoine it’s very similar to Milos Kerkez, they are players who are playing a lot of minutes, they are still young, they are playing with the club, with the national team.
‘It’s kind of a tendonitis, it was the only time he had to try to receive the treatment, to stop playing for at least some days and try to solve a more chronic injury.
‘It’s not something that happened against Brentford, it’s something he’s playing with.
‘Milos is very similar, they needed to stop, to receive the treatment, try to improve the overall condition physically to continue with these demands that are very high because we are using them a lot, normally they play all the games, every minute, and I think it’s something they needed.
‘I think they can continue playing with this, I hope it becomes better and better and we forget about these things.
‘If you ask any manager we all have our problems, our injuries. Right now we have to get used to, in our case, three, four important players and still be competitive and we will try to continue this.’
Asked if Semenyo and Kerkez will be fit to play against Brighton, Iraola replied: ‘Yes, I hope they are fit, they are going to train today so I hope they can play tomorrow, yes.’
