Liverpool will turn their attention to facing West Ham United in the Carabao Cup tomorrow after a strong start in the Premier League.

Arne Slot‘s men were able to return to winning ways at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a brace from Luis Diaz and one from Darwin Nunez.

It perhaps wasn’t the best performance under Slot’s reign, as Bournemouth actually had the same amount of shots as Liverpool, but it was the clinical finishing that made the difference.

Next is a Carabao Cup clash at Anfield as West Ham United will travel to Merseyside in the third round.

Alisson Becker is out injured, so Caoimhin Kelleher will likely start between the sticks.

And, speaking prior to the match, Arne Slot has showered praise on a player who’s yet to make his Liverpool debut.

The cup competition allows Arne Slot to switch things up for Liverpool, with Federico Chiesa possibly getting his first start.

Of course, Alisson’s injury will naturally open up the door for a goalkeeper to come in who wouldn’t normally featured in the matchday squads.

That man is Viteslav Jaros, who is yet to even make his debut for Liverpool.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference via Liverpool Echo, Arne Slot spoke on Jaros as well as Caoimhin Kelleher.

"I wasn’t surprised at all at his performance. He was very good in pre-season already. It’s a good thing for us because we have two really good goalkeepers and our third one (Jaros) is also a really strong goalkeeper.

“It was pleasing to see he kept a clean sheet. He had to act a few times but he did it really well."

Who is Liverpool’s summer signing Vitseslav Jaros?

Jaros joined from Slavia U17 all the way back in 2017 but he’s yet to make his debut for the club, despite now being 23 years of age.

The Czech Republic international has spent four seasons on loan at various clubs as he looks to get regular gametime.

He’s appeared 45 times in the youth ranks at Liverpool and the club clearly see something in him to keep him around.

Slot got a look at him in pre-season and clearly likes what he saw as he’s not set to be in his squad again.
