Yesterday, Napoli were linked with a move for Brentford star Mikkel Damsgaard.

The report explained the Denmark international is an alternative to Alejandro Garnacho for Napoli, who are on the verge of losing Khvicha Kvaratkshelia to Paris Saint-Germain this month.

More has now emerged about Napoli’s liking for Brentford’s Damsgaard and this comes from Gianluca Vitale, who had initially reported the interest.

The journalist explains the London club want about €50m to sell the midfielder and that seems to be too much of a demand for Napoli, who have been blown out of the water by the price tag.

Brentford are only prepared to sell the 24-year-old for a high fee.

Napoli are also facing struggles in their move for Garnacho and that encouraged them to look at Damsgaard, but signing him also seems like a bridge too far.

Thomas Frank’s side have seen the versatile midfielder impress this season, with seven assists and two goals to his name in the Premier League.
