Claudia Schiffer was spotted among those in attendance as Brentford hosted Nottingham Forest at The G-tech Community Stadium.

The Bees went into that clash on Saturday (21 December) in excellent form on home turf, winning seven and drawing one of their previous eight home Premier League games this season.

Thomas Frank’s side will therefore have been hoping for more success against Forest, and seemingly had one celebrity supporter to impress to in the form of a supermodel in Schiffer.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (2:48pm), host Simon Thomas said: “Well Claudia Schiffer must have heard about Brentford’s imperious home form because she’s in town today and at the G-Tech with her daughters Clemmie and Cosima as well.

“I’m sure they’ve been discussing those four changes that Thomas Frank has made for that game against Nottingham Forest this afternoon… Tim Sherwood reliably informs me that she is a Brentford fan. She will know therefore, that at home Brentford, so far this season, have unstoppable.”

The fact that Sherwood himself then burst out laughing does seem to suggest that the final comment may have been at least in jest.

Brentford faced a tough afternoon against Nottingham Forest

It is worth noting that Schiffer was previously in attendance as Chelsea faced Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge last season (BBC Sport).

As a result this may simply have been a case of her taking the opportunity to take in a game being played in West London.

Ultimately though this did not start out as an afternoon that went in the way Brentford would have wanted them to.

Frank’s side found themselves 1-0 down at half-time following a goal from Ola Aina shortly before the break, which will not have been the response they wanted to their midweek cup defeat at Newcastle, before Anthony Elanga doubled the lead.

Given Forest have made an excellent start to the season though it perhaps should not be viewed as a surprise that this turned into a tough game for Brentford.

Even so that may make it a good thing for Schiffer was simply there as a neutral observer rather than a supporter of the Bees, as she would have been disappointed to see that home record fall flat.

In other news, both Brentford and Chelsea could be facing a charge from the FA.
