Over the past few months, claims from Italy have credited Brentford with interest in Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode.

These claims aren’t going away and there’s multiple updates on Brentford’s interest in the right-back.

Friday’s edition Corriere dello Sport claims Brentford are among the clubs keeping an eye on the 20-year-old.

The newspaper adds the Bees want to sign him on a permanent transfer in the winter market, while the Serie A side would like to ‘have a final say’ about his future.

Corriere haven’t explained what exactly they mean by that but it’s likely clause related. Firenze Viola reported on Thursday that Fiorentina want to have control over Kayode’s future and prefer to sanction a loan move ‘under certain conditions’.

Brighton & Hove Albion are also in the running to sign the Italy U21 international in this window.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short but big update on Brentford.

Pedullà claims Thomas Frank’s side are ‘in pole position’ and are ‘working to close’ a move for Kayode on a loan deal in January. He hasn’t mentioned if there will be an option or obligation to buy.
