Brighton and Hove Albion manager Fabian Hürzeler has admitted he would like to manage Bayern Munich in future.

BILD cover comments from the Brighton manager today made on their Phrasenmäher podcast, the second part of which is out this week.

The first part of that interview saw him discussing comparisons to Jurgen Klopp and his side beating Manchester City in their previous game, this week is focused on transfers.

That saw the Brighton manager revealing they had been close to signing Mats Hummels in the summer and then talking about his own future.

The 31-year-old has a growing reputation in the game after rising with St. Pauli in the past and now with Brighton, who he has fifth in the table level on points with Chelsea in third and just a point behind Manchester City in second.

He's very much considered one of the rising managerial stars because of that, particularly with Brighton also currently one of the more attractive sides in the Premier League.

It seems Hürzeler is very much aware of that and, when asked about his own future, admitted he wouldn't say no to Bayern Munich.

“I’m not going to make a secret of it: There is of course a club close to my heart because I played there for ten or eleven years – and that is FC Bayern," he said.

"Those are simply my roots. But: I was very happy at Pipinsried in the 4th division, at St. Pauli and now at Brighton. I don’t define myself by which club I coach, but rather by the people I work with.

"And I define myself by the state in which I leave a club and what people think of me. Of course, not everyone at FC St. Pauli is happy with me – which I can understand given my connection with the fans – but I left behind an intact team and, together with my staff, made sure we got back into the first division. That memory will remain.”
