Chelsea fans make their feelings clear to Enzo Maresca about Joao Felix after his performance against Morecambe
Today at 12:00 PM
Chelsea opened up their FA Cup campaign for 2025 with a comfortable win over Morecambe to book their place in the next round, with Joao Felix very much at the heart of things.
Felix was given a start by Enzo Maresca in one of the number ten positions as the likes of Cole Palmer dropped out to allow the Blues to rotate.
With Palmer out of the picture, Felix very much showed his class against lower league opposition as he buzzed about the pitch before scoring twice in two minutes to put the seal on a fine individual performance.
Of course, we known that Chelsea were expected to beat Morecambe but with Felix among a cluster of Chelsea players who don’t quite get the game-time they’d like, it’s very much a bonus for Maresca to see him do well.
Felix’s double now puts him on seven goals for the season overall, with the Portuguese star shining in the Conference League in the main thus far.
And over on social media, Chelsea fans were full of praise for Felix.
Chelsea fans all agree about Joao Felix’s talent after his double v Morecambe
Over the course of the season so far, Joao Felix has come under fire from some inside Stamford Bridge but there’s never been a doubt about the actual talent he possesses.
And on X, there were plenty of Chelsea fans making that exact point about the former Atletico star.
Adding more praise on Felix, @Laus1507 claimed that Felix was way better than Christopher Nkunku.
“Actually kind of crazy how much better Joao Felix is than Nkunku…”
While @DiabloChaze followed that notion, suggesting Nkunku should leave over Felix if push comes to shove.
“To be honest, we need more of Joao Felix in the squad than we need Nkunku. He can leave while Chelsea wait to sign a top profile replacement by summer.”
Going on further about Felix, @Nino12x called on Enzo Maresca to give the forward more starts.
“All Maresca has to do is give Joao Felix three starts in a row. Is that too difficult? We're wasting a very good player on the bench it doesn't make any sense to me”
Another fan, @SS___899, also called on Maresca to find a way to get Felix involved more.
“Joao Felix is the 2nd best attacker at this club and a top 5 player. IF you can't find a role for him as a coach then it's on you and your system in more ways than one. No one in this platform can tell me Sanchos 'creativity' is worth more than Joao's Chaos and ability to change a game with one piece of action.”
While even the Liverpool account @Watch_LFC was impressed, suggesting Felix would fit right in at Anfield.
“Joao Felix is genuinely such a mesmerising footballer. I don't know why it hasn't worked out for him completely at the top level but I would love him at Liverpool”
