'Club sources have told me': BBC journalist shares what he's heard about Lopetegui's West Ham future

West Ham United are currently in a difficult position in wake of a poor start to the Premier League season.
The Hammers sit 14th in the Premier League table and have 12 points to their name, just five above the bottom three.
West Ham have won just three of their 11 league matches and are also out of the Carabao Cup due to a 5-1 hammering by Liverpool.
This has led to increasing speculation over the future of Julen Lopetegui, who only took the reins in the summer after David Moyes’ departure.
BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone has shared what he has heard from West Ham sources regarding the Spaniard’s future at the London Stadium.
West Ham board 100 percent behind Julen Lopetegui for now
Stone has told BBC Sport that the Hammers board remains firmly behind Lopetegui, but they also acknowledge that results must improve.
“It is fair to say Julen Lopetegui’s tenure at West Ham is very much in the balance,” said Stone.
“Amid massive speculation about his future, club sources have told me they are still 100% behind Lopetegui but that results have to improve.
“The Hammers have some tough games ahead – a trip to Newcastle immediately after the international break and a London derby against Arsenal straight after that.
“The pressure is on Lopetegui to deliver.”

David Sullivan standing firm over Lopetegui future
As per TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, West Ham chairman David Sullivan is standing firm over wanting to give Lopetegui more time – for the time being
The rest of the Hammers hierarchy, meanwhile, wants change – and Sullivan is aware that the team’s form is way off what is expected.
TBR Football revealed ahead of the Everton game that defeat for West Ham would likely have sealed Lopetegui’s fate at E20.
The Toffees and the Hammers played out a stalemate, which seemingly gave Lopetegui a reprieve at the helm of the claret-and-blue club.
